🗺️ Meishan Cable Carあわぎん眉山ロープウェイ

Mount Bizan is a symbol of Tokushima City in Tokushima Prefecture. It was praised in the earliest existing collection of Japanese poetry, the "Man'yōshū," with the lines "Like eyebrows, the mountains of Awa can be seen among the clouds." Taking the Awa Bizan Ropeway, which connects Mount Bizan to the "Awa Odori Hall" in the city, it only takes 6 minutes to reach the summit at an elevation of 290 meters. From the windows of the ropeway, you can enjoy close-up views of seasonal beauty such as cherry blossoms and autumn leaves, as well as a panoramic view of the entire Tokushima City. The scenery at the mountaintop station is particularly enchanting, offering a breathtaking view of the majestic Yoshino River, known as "Shikoku Saburō," and the Awa Mountains, along with distant sights of the Naruto Strait and Awaji Island. On clear days, you can even see the distant Kii Peninsula. The night view from the top of Mount Bizan is listed as one of the "Top 100 Night Views in Japan," and the moonlit scenery from Mount Bizan has been selected as one of the "Top 100 Moons in Japan," making it a renowned scenic spot. From April to the end of October, the ropeway operates until 9 PM, so if you visit during this period, consider going up after sunset to enjoy the stunning night view.
