Located in the natural park at the Ōno Dam in Miyama-cho, Nantan City, Kyoto Prefecture. Completed in 1961, the Ōno Dam is renowned for its seasonal scenery, earning the title of "Lake of Rainbows," and has been selected as one of the "Top 100 Dam Lakes."
Every spring, thousands of cherry blossoms planted by local residents bloom in a stunning display, making driving through the cherry blossom-lined paths a major attraction. Picnicking by the lakeside while enjoying the fully bloomed cherry blossoms is incredibly soothing. As autumn arrives, 500 trees transform into vibrant shades of red and yellow, painting the lakeside in beautiful gradients. During the cherry blossom and autumn foliage seasons, the "Sakura Festival" and "Momiji Festival" are held, featuring numerous stalls selling local specialties, creating a lively atmosphere.
The park also has playground equipment for young children. On the opposite bank, there is a mini-golf course suitable for beginners. It is the perfect place to refresh both body and mind in the bountiful embrace of nature.
