About Moma Sakura no Miya Park
4,800 cherry blossom trees stretch along the riverside urban park.
Details
Located along both sides of the Ōkawa River flowing through central Osaka, "Kema Sakuranomiya Park" stretches from the Kema Washi Dam at the confluence with the Yodo River down to the area around Tenmabashi, forming a riverside park with a total length of 4.2 kilometers.
On the right bank, you can find historical buildings such as the "Osaka Mint Bureau," "Izumi Bukan," and the "Old Sakuranomiya Public Hall." On the left bank, there is the garden "Fujita Tei Ato Park," designated as a scenic spot in Osaka, as well as "Osaka FUREAI Waterfront," which transformed from the former lumber yard site at the left bank of Genpachi Bridge into a popular picnic area. This area is a very popular walking or jogging route. It is well-known as one of the top cherry blossom viewing spots in the city, especially the stunning sight of approximately 4,800 cherry trees in full bloom from Tenmabashi to Sakuranomiya Bridge. Every year, a large number of cherry blossom viewers flock here, creating a bustling atmosphere from day to night.
Additionally, in front of "Osaka Amenity Park," there is a boarding area for the "Osaka Water Bus," which also features the open-deck cruise boat "Mifune Kaigō." The street view and the cherry blossoms in full bloom from the water are particularly beautiful.
