Nagoya Castle
🎨 Gallery
✨ Highlights
The golden shachihoko shining brightly atop the main keep is a symbol of Nagoya. The murals painted by the "Kano School" inside the Honmaru Palace hold high artistic value. The castle was commissioned by Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Edo Shogunate. The stone walls built around Kato Kiyomasa are also very impressive. Currently, the Nagoya Castle main keep is closed to the public due to insufficient seismic resistance, with plans to reopen in 2032.
