About No. 2 Arima Ostrich Farm
Let's take a photo with the ostrich against the backdrop of Mount Yotei!
Details
Located at the foot of the beautiful "Yotei Mountain," this vast ranch raises ostriches and dairy cows through grazing methods. The surrounding picturesque landscape is designated as a scenic spot in Niseko Town known as the "Hometown Viewing Point." Visitors can enjoy a relaxing moment while gazing at the sight of ostriches and herds of cows freely roaming in the magnificent scenery of Hokkaido. This place is also a popular spot for taking photos with ostriches against the backdrop of Yotei Mountain.
During the grazing period, visitors can purchase feed from vending machines to feed the ostriches (for a fee). When the feed is scattered on the ground, the ostriches will come close, showcasing their impressive large bodies.
The ranch operates a consistent business model for processing and selling ostrich eggs and ostrich meat. They do not feed any antibiotics that affect intestinal bacteria, and the ostrich eggs produced through self-formulated and grazing methods are among the highest fertilization rates in Japan. The "Dorayaki Sandwich" made with vibrant signature ostrich eggs is a very popular souvenir in Niseko Town.
Highlights
Located in the naturally rich Niseko, this ranch primarily raises ostriches. The ostriches, which grow freely in the vast northern nature, are worth seeing. The "Dorayaki Sandwich" made with ostrich eggs is a must-buy souvenir.
