Ōkunoshima is part of the Setonaikai National Park and is a small island with an area of about 4 kilometers. It is known as the "island that disappeared from the map" due to its history as a site for a poison gas factory. Currently, there are about 500 to 600 rabbits living on the island, and in recent years, the "Rabbit Island" has gained significant popularity on the internet and social media, attracting many visitors from both domestic and international locations.
On the island, there is the "Ōkunoshima Resort," which offers accommodations as well as various activities such as day trips for hot springs, camping, cycling, and fishing, making it a perfect place to spend a leisurely day. Additionally, there is the "Ōkunoshima Poison Gas Museum," which conveys the tragic history of poison gas production.
The rabbits living on the island are European rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus), known for their social behavior and burrowing habits. Please note that rabbit feed is not sold on the island. Leftover feed can attract predators such as crows, kites, and wild boars, posing a danger to the rabbits, so it is essential to take any remaining feed with you. It is also prohibited to litter on the island; please be sure to follow the island's rules and enjoy a healing journey on Rabbit Island.

Are there coin-operated lockers?
The second pier rest area on Ōkunoshima Island has coin-operated lockers. The storage hours are from 8:45 to 16:30. Alternatively, you can store your luggage at Tadanoumi Port from 7:00 to 19:45. There are no lockers available within the Ōkunoshima resort.
