🗺️ Rokubo Ice Pillarあしがくぼの氷柱

One of the three major ice pillars in Chichibu, the Ashikubo Ice Pillar is a nationally renowned natural ice sculpture attraction in Japan. Every year, from early January to late February, many tourists travel to Yokose Town in Saitama Prefecture to admire this masterpiece. The Ashikubo Ice Pillar is 200 meters wide and approximately 30 meters high, formed by local residents spraying water on the slopes of the mountains, which gradually freezes due to the cold temperatures. It can be said to be an artistic creation completed through the unique topographical environment, cold climate, and the collaborative efforts of the local community. The space filled with ice pillars of various shapes intertwined creates a dynamic beauty that amazes visiting tourists. There is also a viewing pathway built for close-up appreciation of the massive ice pillars on both sides. During the event period, the "Night Lighting," where lights perfectly blend with the ice pillars, is the most spectacular highlight. Lighting begins after sunset on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays. The LED lights continuously change over time, creating an even more enchanting atmosphere. Due to the extremely cold weather, please be sure to take necessary precautions against the cold when visiting.

Together with the Sankakuzan Ice Pillars and the Oinai Ice Pillars, they are collectively known as the "Chichibu Three Great Ice Pillars." The majestic and dynamically beautiful ice pillars are 200 meters wide and about 30 meters high. Visitors can appreciate the enormous ice pillars on both sides up close from specially designated viewing pathways. The lighting events are held only on weekends.
