🗺️ Shirahama Coast白保海岸

Located on the southeastern coast of Ishigaki Island, the beach is about a 10-minute drive from New Ishigaki Airport and approximately 20 minutes from the city center, making it easily accessible. The long beach stretches about 10 kilometers, where the azure sky and natural white sands complement each other, preserving an unspoiled natural landscape without any artificial structures like breakwaters. Just sitting by the shore and listening to the sound of the waves can rejuvenate both body and mind. This area is famous for its rare blue coral reefs, the largest in the Northern Hemisphere. In addition to blue coral, over 70 species of corals such as leaf-shaped pore coral, beach coral, and stony coral inhabit the area, making it a popular destination for snorkeling and diving. There are also various snorkeling tours that take visitors to a coral reef viewing area about 1 kilometer off the coast. Looking into the crystal-clear sea, you can see vividly colored tropical fish swimming freely among the coral reefs. It feels like a dreamlike world straight out of a picture book, captivating the heart.
