🗺️ Shiretoko Nature Center知床自然センター

The Shiretoko Nature Center is a visitor center located at the entrance of the "Horobetsu Area" in Shiretoko National Park. It not only provides information on nature tourism in Shiretoko National Park, such as mountain climbing and hiking, but also keeps visitors updated on the latest sightings and information regarding black bears. The center also sells and rents outdoor activity-related equipment, making it easier for travelers to connect with the natural environment of Shiretoko. The Shiretoko Nature Center is also the starting point for walking activities, with three nearby trails, including the 1-kilometer round trip "Deer Fence Route," the 2-kilometer round trip "Otome no Namida Waterfall Trail," and the 5-kilometer round trip "Pioneer Cabin Route." Inside the center, there is a theater equipped with a giant screen measuring 12 meters high and 20 meters wide, which plays two films introducing the natural environment of Shiretoko. There is also a café for relaxation, where visitors can enjoy lattes made with Hokkaido milk and lunches made from local ingredients. The center also offers free Wi-Fi.
