In the vast park, about 2,000 species of flowers, grasses, and trees grow, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the botanical garden of nature.
Details
Located in the area of "Drogawa Plain" in the Nakisan Quasi-National Park behind the Ice Mountain, this botanical garden opened in 1997. It has been selected as the top natural attraction in the "Hyogo Prefecture's Top 100 Tourist Spots." The garden's main highlights include the preservation of the "Millennium Water," which springs forth 5,000 tons daily, and the "Wachi Daikatsura," a tree over 1,000 years old.
This area marks the northern boundary for southern plants, the southern boundary for northern plants, the lower boundary for alpine plants, and the upper boundary for lowland plants. Within the expansive 17-hectare garden, approximately 2,000 species of plants thrive. Additionally, there are two ponds and wetlands in the garden, which are home to various birds, insects, and dragonflies.
The garden also features a restaurant where visitors can enjoy Tajima beef barbecue and a treehouse restaurant. The take-out "Garden Lunch Box" can be enjoyed not only in the restaurant but also throughout the botanical garden, allowing guests to savor their meals surrounded by trees and greenery. Of course, the menu featuring locally sourced Tajima beef is a must-try.
During the snowy winter season, the "Snow House Restaurant" event is held, along with popular snowshoeing experiences.
