About The Road to Fuchu
The road still retains the appearance of the old streets from the past.
Details
The Round Trip Path (Japanese: ใใใใฎ้) is a riverbank terrace cliff formed by years of erosion from the Tamagawa River, commonly known as "HAKE." Long ago, timber cut down in the mountains and forests upstream of the Tamagawa River was assembled into rafts and then transported along the river to Tokyo Bay. Because the boatmen frequently traveled back and forth on this route to transport the timber, it received this name.
Highlights
The riverbank terrace cliffs formed by years of erosion from the Tama River are commonly known as "HAKE," standing about 6 meters high. They are famous for the roads lined with red "camellias" in spring. Being situated on a hill, the view is excellent.
