About Tottori Flower Corridor
Japan's largest flower-themed park.
Details
Tottori Hanakairou is the largest flower-themed park in Japan, utilizing the technique of borrowed scenery to cleverly integrate the natural beauty of the majestic Daisen mountain with the stunning floral displays that change with the seasons.
The park primarily features lilies, showcasing over 100 varieties of lilies throughout the year. It is home to nearly half of the world's lily species and exhibits all 15 types of native Japanese lilies, including the so-called "dream lily" known as "ukeyuri." The peak season for lilies runs from mid-May to mid-August, where 80,000 lily plants compete in a breathtaking display.
Covering a total area of 50 hectares, the most striking feature of the park is the giant glass greenhouse "Flower Dome," which has a diameter of 50 meters and stands 21 meters tall. Inside, it houses a variety of tropical and subtropical plants, including palm trees, as well as over 500 vibrant orchids. Additionally, there is a "Viewing Corridor" that is 1 kilometer long and 25 meters above ground, featuring a roof and centered around the Flower Dome, along with water flowerbeds and European-style gardens as other highlights.
The "Moonlight Garden" event, held on weekends in August each year, is quite popular. With a theme of moonlight, 14,000 light bulbs transform the garden into a charming and enchanting dream world at night. Furthermore, starting from mid-November, the "Flower Light Show" is the largest lighting event in the Chugoku and Shikoku regions, allowing visitors to enjoy a romantic and colorful time in the beautifully illuminated night garden.
Highlights
You can enjoy the natural scenery of Xiufeng Mountain and the beautiful flowers that change with the seasons at the same time. It features a giant glass greenhouse that is open year-round and a viewing corridor. The nighttime garden lighting event is quite popular throughout Japan.
