About Ue-yasumi Park
In spring, there are cherry blossoms and rapeseed flowers; in autumn, there are cosmos and straw art! A park where you can enjoy seasonal flowers and beautiful lakeside scenery.
Details
Located at the foot of Mount Kakuda, Kamiyama Wetland Park is a healing spot where beautiful flowers can be enjoyed in all four seasons. The park covers a vast area and features a lake that serves as a habitat for wild birds, allowing anyone who visits to spend a truly relaxing time. It takes about 10 minutes by car from Nishikambara Ward in Niigata City, or you can reach it by bus from Niigata Station, making it very convenient to access. Despite being close to the city, it boasts an area of 263,000 square meters, allowing visitors to easily enjoy the fresh air of nature.
Inside the park, there is approximately 2 hectares of rapeseed flower fields and about 450 cherry blossom trees, allowing visitors to see both the vast fields of rapeseed and fully bloomed cherry blossoms in spring. The endless scenery of bright yellow and pink provides perfect photo opportunities that are sure to attract attention on social media. In summer, you can enjoy the refreshing lakeside greenery; in autumn, you can appreciate the cosmos flowers and the "straw art" created with straw bales. It is definitely a healing spot where you can enjoy flowers and scenery throughout the year.
I recommend taking a leisurely stroll along the approximately 2-kilometer-long trail, where you can enjoy hiking or have a picnic. The park features cozy wooden cabins for resting and a barbecue area where you can experience the fun of grilling. There are also various playground equipment like a sliding track and rope course, making it a fun place for both families and couples to enjoy.
