About Uji City Botanical Park
Spend your holiday surrounded by plants in Japan's largest three-dimensional flower bed and an exotic greenhouse.
Details
The Uji City Botanical Park is located on the hills in the southwestern part of Uji City, covering an area of approximately 10 hectares. The "Wall Tapestry of Flowers and Water" at the entrance is the largest three-dimensional flower bed in Japan, measuring 62 meters wide and 18 meters high, composed of 3,675 flower pots. Seasonal plants are arranged in a painted style to create a giant flower bed themed around Uji City, offering outstanding visual impact and beauty, making it an ideal photo spot.
The park is divided into four seasonal areas: spring, summer, autumn, and winter, with around 800 species of plants. Surrounded by various trees, flowers, herbs, and aquatic plants, visitors can enjoy a relaxing stroll.
Additionally, on the right side of the entrance, the "Green Rest Area" greenhouse features approximately 650 species and 7,000 tropical and subtropical plants. It includes rare plants in Japan such as the three sacred trees of Buddhism, Ficus microcarpa, coconut palms, and bougainvillea, creating an exotic atmosphere.
