About Umeda Sky Building

Osaka Umeda Landmark! A giant skyscraper 40 stories high, offering an unbeatable night view of Osaka from the top floor "Floating Garden Observatory."

Details

The Umeda Sky Building, completed in 1993, is a giant skyscraper consisting of two super-tall buildings connected at the top, with 40 floors. Known as a "thrilling skyscraper," it was selected as one of the "Top 20 Buildings in the World" by a renowned British magazine. Its unique exterior design is one of the charms that endear it to many. The third floor features an elevator access point that can take you directly to the 35th floor in an instant. From there, you can take an escalator through a starry tunnel made of steel framework to reach the 39th floor. On the 39th floor, there is a shop called "UMEDA SKYBLDG GALLERY SHOP," which sells DIY kits for plant specimen ballpoint pens and unique souvenirs, including original products of the Umeda Sky Building made by the model manufacturer "Kaiyodo." This floor also hosts two scenic restaurants. One is "Sky Lounge Stardust," offering 300 types of cocktails and creative Italian cuisine. The other is "Chinese Cuisine Can-Kyo," serving authentic Cantonese dishes primarily focused on seafood. In addition to set menus, individual dishes can also be ordered. The 40th floor features an observation gallery and a café called "cafe SKY 40." Visitors can wander through the gallery to watch videos and exhibitions related to the Umeda Sky Building, or enjoy exclusive coffee, Umeda Sky Building-shaped pancakes, and beverages and delicacies from around the world in a café that seems to float in the air. The Floating Garden Observatory is located on the top floor, 173 meters above ground. It offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the Akashi Kaikyō Bridge, Awaji Island, Mount Rokko, the Tempozan Ferris Wheel, and the urban landscape of Osaka centered around Umeda. This spot is particularly recommended for those wanting to enjoy the night view of Osaka. Additionally, the building houses a cinema and "Taki-Mi Koji," which recreates the atmosphere of the Showa era, allowing visitors to taste various local Osaka delicacies. There is also an urban oasis called "Naka Shizen no Mori" and a picturesque area named "Hanano ~ New Satoyama ~," making it a great place to connect with nature and enjoy leisurely walks.
