📖 Details
Yahata Mountain Park is a spacious park located in the center of Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture. Within the park, there is the "Utsunomiya Tower," which stands at 89 meters tall and offers a panoramic view of the entire city. The park features a large complex playground called Adventure U, equipped with small play vehicles for children, as well as an animal house that houses animals such as red-crowned cranes, rabbits, and raccoons.
Taking full advantage of the natural hilly terrain, the park is home to approximately 800 cherry blossom trees and about 700 azaleas, making it one of the main cherry blossom viewing spots in Utsunomiya City. During the cherry blossom season, the park is bustling with stalls, and at night, lanterns are lit, attracting a continuous flow of flower viewers.
At the bottom of the slope leading down from Utsunomiya Tower, there is a Japanese garden built in the late Showa period. This pond-style strolling garden employs the borrowed scenery technique, cleverly integrating Utsunomiya Tower into the garden landscape.
Next to Yahata Mountain Park is the Utsunomiya Velodrome, where visitors can enter the restaurant inside the velodrome for lunch and rest, free of charge from the park.
