The gateway to the Yokohama Minato Mirai 21 area is Japan's first railway station, JR Sakuragicho Station (the first Yokohama Station). Upon exiting the station, you are greeted by the towering 296-meter skyscraper "Yokohama LANDMARK TOWER" and the large Ferris wheel "COSMO CLOCK 21," showcasing a near-futuristic landscape. In 2021, Japan's first urban aerial cable car, "YOKOHAMA AIR CABIN," was also opened. The cable car connects from this location via an old railway line to Canal Park Station, covering a distance of 630 meters. The Yokohama Minato Mirai 21 area is also home to numerous shopping centers, luxury hotels, and art museums. It is close to the harbor and filled with greenery, offering a sense of openness. The interiors are interconnected, either directly or via walkways, and for those looking to explore further, it is possible to walk to famous Yokohama attractions such as Yamashita Park, Yokohama Chinatown, and the Motomachi-Yamate area. At a height of 273 meters, the observation deck "SKY GARDEN" on the 69th floor of LANDMARK TOWER offers breathtaking views, while the amusement park "Yokohama COSMO WORLD" allows free entry (though rides require payment).
