🗺️ Yōrō Park - Yōrō Tenmei Hantenchi養老公園・養老天命反転地

"Yoro Tenmei Hanten" is located within the expansive Yoro Park, centered around the Yoro Waterfall. It is a remarkable piece of art that allows for a direct physical experience, realized through the vision of world-renowned artist Shusaku Arakawa and his partner, poet Madeline Gins, over more than 30 years. This large-scale work consists of two parts: the main exhibition hall "House of Extreme Similar Objects" and the "Oval Field." The "House of Extreme Similar Objects" is a distinctive building that uses the shape of Gifu Prefecture as its roof, allowing access from various points and designed like a maze. The ceiling of the first floor is crafted to create an inverted world, an experience not to be missed. After carefully appreciating and experiencing the main exhibition hall, it is recommended to head to the "Oval Field." The "Oval Field" features nine exhibition halls divided by the "House of Extreme Similar Objects." It includes paired hills and depressions, 148 winding and twisting circular paths, and even forms various islands of Japan, requiring the use of one's entire body to achieve balance, allowing for a dramatic experience of undulating terrain.

All the artworks in "Yōrō Tenmei Hantō" can be felt and experienced with your whole body. It consists of the main exhibition halls "House of Extremely Similar Objects" and "Elliptical Field." The experience in the "House of Extremely Similar Objects" is a crucial key to later exploring the Elliptical Field. The undulating and varied "Elliptical Field" is home to 9 exhibition halls. Due to the presence of depressions and slippery slopes, it is recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes when visiting.
