About Zokubei Ginkgo Park
The best base for exploring the "Yellow Leaves" attractions in Zufu River.
Details
Inazawa City, Aichi Prefecture, is one of Japan's top producers of ginkgo trees, with the highest yield found in the Sobue area. There are over ten thousand ginkgo trees in Sobue Town, and during autumn, the entire region is covered in a dazzling golden hue.
Every year, from mid to late November, the "Sobue Ginkgo Yellow Leaf Festival" is held, with "Sobue Ginkgo Park" serving as one of the main venues for the event. The park is designed as a multifunctional space with the themes of "ginkgo, history, and health." Within the park, you can find the most representative ginkgo varieties of Sobue Town, including "Kusyu," "Togukuro," "Eishin," and "Kinbei."
During the yellow leaf season, visitors can overlook the surrounding ginkgo scenery from a 7.5-meter-high observation deck. You can also see the ground covered with ginkgo leaves, forming a golden carpet.
Other notable ginkgo viewing spots include Yusonji Temple near the park, a ginkgo tree over a hundred years old near Meitetsu Yamazaki Station, and the original mother tree of "Kusyu," all worth a visit. It is recommended to use the park as a base to explore various yellow leaf attractions.
