Due to hosting the alpine skiing events and combined competitions of the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics, the world-renowned top powder snow slopes have gained fame. It is the largest ski resort in Japan in terms of a single ski area.
From the summit at an altitude of 1,831 meters, with the backdrop of the three mountains of Hakuba in the Northern Alps, one can see the breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Myoko, Mount Togakushi, the smoking Mount Asama, and the Yatsugatake mountain range, among others.
The resort offers a variety of slopes, including beginner, intermediate, and advanced trails, making it popular among a wide range of skiers. There is also "Nakiyama Snowland," which is suitable for children and beginners.
