About Hanami Mountain Park
Hiking in the famous cherry blossom region of Tohoku's Rikuo Peach Blossom Village.
Details
From the hillside where Hanamiyama Park is located, one can enjoy the view of Hanamiyama, which is dyed in a gradient of light pink, known as the "Tōgenkyō" of Fukushima Prefecture. Surrounded by colorful flowers, it feels like a dream come true.
This famous flower viewing spot in Fukushima is well-known to everyone and originated from the idea of a farmer. Abe Isejirō was one of the farmers who transitioned from sericulture to flower cultivation in the early Showa era. To make a living, he continued to clear land, plant flowers, and sell them. One day, someone requested to visit the hillside filled with blooming flowers, and more and more people began to come to enjoy the blossoms. Later, in 1959, "Hanamiyama Park" was established to allow even more people to appreciate the flowers.
When spring arrives, in addition to various cherry blossoms, around 70 types of flowers such as plum, peony, and magnolia bloom at different times. The park offers walking routes of approximately 30, 45, and 60 minutes, allowing visitors to enjoy the flowers according to their physical strength and schedule.
