🗺️ Hirakubo Cape平久保崎

The northern part of Ishigaki Island, specifically the Hirakubo Peninsula, boasts rich natural landscapes. It takes about a 40-minute drive from Ishigaki Airport to the northernmost point, Hirakubo Cape, which is a scenic tourist destination with breathtaking views. After passing through grazing fields where cattle leisurely stroll, you can park your vehicle in the parking lot and walk forward to see the straight horizon line. Here, you can enjoy an unobstructed view of the southeastern sea on the left and the Pacific Ocean on the right. The stunning scenery, with the coral reefs displaying different shades of blue against the sky and the white lighthouse standing prominently at the cape, resembles a picturesque postcard. Whether during the day, at sunset when the fiery sun slowly sinks into the sea, or on a starry night, the beauty is captivating. Additionally, the lighthouse has been designated as a romantic spot by the "Koi no Tōkō Project" (恋愛灯台計画), making it a favorite among couples. Although it is a popular attraction visited by tourists at all times, the parking lot is relatively small, so if it is full upon your arrival, you will need to queue for a parking space. Being located by the sea, the winds can be strong, so be careful not to let your umbrella or hat get blown away.
