About Kujukuri Beach
One of the largest beaches in Japan, it features several large swimming areas.
Details
Kujukuri Beach stretches approximately 60 kilometers along the Pacific coast, extending from Cape Gyobu in the eastern part of Chiba Prefecture to Cape Taiho, making it one of the largest coastal beaches in Japan. The characteristic of Kujukuri Beach is its bow-shaped coastline, which consists entirely of continuous sandy beaches without any rocky reefs. It is part of the Chiba Prefectural Kujukuri Nature Park and has been selected as one of the "Japan's 100 Best White Sand and Green Pine Beaches" and "Japan's 100 Best Beaches."
During the summer bathing season, beach huts line the sandy shore, and visitors can enjoy the rich flavors of local specialties such as "hamaguri" (clams) and thick, juicy "iwagaki" (rock oysters) while vacationing at the beach.
Kujukuri Beach is one of the best surfing spots in Japan, and its proximity to Tokyo makes it very convenient for travel. Throughout the year, many people come here to enjoy water sports such as surfing, windsurfing, jet skiing, and water skiing.
Visitors can also challenge themselves with fishing experiences using methods like angling or dragnet fishing, enjoying the dynamic natural scenery of the Pacific Ocean. In addition, there are many sightseeing and experiential facilities around Kujukuri Beach, including art museums, allowing visitors to enjoy multiple attractions in one trip.
