🗺️ Lake Biwa and Mount Hakodate

📝 Introduction

Summer is a lush paradise of flowers, while winter is a snow-covered ski resort.

📖 Details

Lake Biwa's Hakodateyama reopened in 2020 after renovations. This is a great place to enjoy flower viewing in the summer, skiing in the winter, and take an 8-minute cable car ride to experience a scenic walk in the sky while admiring the beautiful views of Lake Biwa. When the cable car reaches the summit at an elevation of about 630 meters, you are greeted with a vast and open natural landscape. In the lush summer, many Instagram-worthy spots appear along the shores of Lake Biwa. Among them are the "Colorful Wind Chime Reed Path," themed around reeds and colorful wind chimes, and the "Rainbow Curtains" made from local traditional textiles. In addition to taking photos, visitors can stroll through flower fields filled with morning glories, broom grass, and sunflowers, enjoying the healing beauty of nature. The park features leisure facilities such as the sundae specialty shop "LAMP," as well as cafes and restaurants, allowing you to take a break whenever you feel tired. In winter, Lake Biwa's Hakodateyama transforms into a ski resort representing the Kansai region. You can ski while enjoying the beautiful views of Lake Biwa from the silver-white slopes. The park offers rental services for various ski equipment, so you can enjoy the snow even if you arrive empty-handed.
