The Nankai Koya Line connects Namba, the center of South Osaka, with Koyasan, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The section between Hashimoto Station and Gokurakubashi Station is affectionately known as the "Koya Flower Railway." Along this route, there are many attractions, including Kudoyama, where the famous Sengoku period warlord Sanada Yukimura once stationed. It is also a popular sightseeing route served by the tourist train "Tenku."
The Koya Flower Railway is one of Japan's most famous mountain routes, featuring many continuous sharp curves and steep slopes. Most of the stations along the way are retro-style, and the stations and bridges on the route have been recognized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as part of the "Koyasan Pilgrimage Related Heritage" within the "Modern Industrial Heritage Group."
The tourist train "Tenku" is a limited reservation special train that operates 2 to 3 round trips daily between Hashimoto and Gokurakubashi, with a travel time of about 45 minutes. It features large observation windows or viewing platforms, allowing passengers to enjoy the majestic mountain scenery, making it very popular.
At the terminal, Gokurakubashi Station, passengers can transfer to the cable car to Koyasan, which was renovated in 2020 to become the "Sacred Place of Departure, Gokurakubashi." The ceiling of the walkway is decorated with colorful paintings, making it a popular photo spot that has garnered attention.

From Nankai Electric Railway's "Namba" Station, take the limited express train "Koya" or "Rinkan" to "Hashimoto" Station, which takes about 44 minutes. If you take the express train, it will take about 50 minutes.
