The Mt. TAKAO train (高尾山號) is a reserved seat train using the new Keio Electric Railway Series 500, connecting Shinjuku Station and Takao-san-guchi Station, operating only on weekends when there are many mountain climbers. Trains heading towards Takao-san-guchi depart from Shinjuku Station and make only one stop at Meidaimae (boarding only) before reaching the final destination directly. The fastest journey from Shinjuku to Takao-san-guchi takes 43 minutes. Passengers on the Inokashira Line can transfer to the Mt. TAKAO train (高尾山號) at Meidaimae. The instant transition from urban street scenes to lush natural landscapes is also astonishing. Trains heading towards Shinjuku make stops at seven stations, including Meidaimae, Takao, and Fuchu (boarding only). The fastest journey from Takao-san-guchi to Shinjuku takes 52 minutes.
