🗺️ Atami Visionary Art Labyrinth Museum
🎨 Attraction Gallery
📝 Introduction
An art museum of optical illusion that can be experienced through sight, touch, and photography.
📖 Details
Located on a high platform overlooking Atami Nishinoura, the museum showcases visionary art created by professional artists. It features flat paintings that are full of three-dimensionality, works created using visual illusions, and pieces that change depending on the viewing angle.
The museum displays about 50 works, including realistic depictions of animals and marine life, as well as imitations of famous paintings. Some exhibition spaces were renovated in April 2023, and the new display content offers a refreshing experience even for returning visitors. Photography and animation are allowed inside. Visitors can use their creativity and acting skills to capture various interesting photos, such as posing with cute animals or moments where they appear to be eaten by sharks or dinosaurs. The staff provides simple and easy-to-understand explanations to help visitors better appreciate the artworks and the best ways to take photos.
Tickets can be purchased at the "Atami Castle" counter. Atami Castle features a foot bath and a keep with panoramic views, so it is recommended to buy a combined ticket for both facilities for better value.
