Memanbetsu Airport is located in Okhotsk's large town on the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk, serving as an aviation gateway to the northeastern part of Hokkaido. There are direct flights to Tokyo and Sapporo every day, and during certain seasons, there are also direct flights to Nagoya and Osaka. The Okhotsk region boasts unique tourism resources, including the world-renowned World Heritage Site "Shiretoko," drift ice, magnificent natural scenery, the rich seafood of the Sea of Okhotsk, and agricultural products from its fertile land. To the northeast of Memanbetsu Airport is "Abashiri City," which features museums, Abashiri Prison, and drift ice sightseeing boats.
