About Okutama Onsen Moegi no Yu
A natural hot spring worth visiting while enjoying leisure and sightseeing in Okutama.
Details
Moegi no Yu (もえぎの湯) is a day-use hot spring located about a 10-minute walk from "Okutama" Station. It is conveniently situated for those enjoying Okutama sightseeing or recreational activities such as hiking, and its outdoor bath, which offers a panoramic view of the Okutama mountain forest, is particularly popular. The hot spring uses natural water that flows from ancient strata deep underground, with a 100% source that is completely unadulterated.
There are three types of baths: an outdoor bath, an indoor bath, and a foot bath. The outdoor bath faces the Okutama mountain forest and the clear waters of the Tama River, allowing guests to enjoy the changing scenery of the four seasons. The indoor bath also features 100% source natural hot spring water, providing a relaxing experience with a vast natural landscape visible through large windows. Additionally, there is a foot bath that effectively promotes blood circulation, which can be used solely for foot soaking (foot bath fee is 100 yen).
Inside the facility, there is a dining area with 42 tatami mats, offering dishes made from river fish nurtured by the Okutama River, prepared by grilling with salt, among other methods. There is also a relaxation room equipped with massage chairs and benches for resting, as well as a gift area selling local specialties from Okutama.
