The Shinagawa Aquarium, built in 1991, is located within the "Shinagawa Ward Residents Park," where visitors can closely observe the canal. The aquarium's theme is "Close to the Sea and Rivers," showcasing approximately 450 species and a total of about 4,000 marine creatures. It is a facility where visitors can engage with, observe, and learn about fish ecology through animal performances and various seasonal activities.
Inside the aquarium, there are large tunnel tanks, a jellyfish exhibition hall, a seal exhibit, and other display facilities. Daily performances featuring dolphins, sea lions, and seals are held, and there are also restaurants and shops located outside the aquarium.
The waterfront restaurant "Dolphin" is well-known for being a "family restaurant with especially delicious vegetables," offering a wide variety of tasty dishes. At the ocean-themed shop "Seagull," visitors can purchase original merchandise related to marine life, making it a great choice for souvenirs.
