🗺️ Tsuburaya Eiji Museum円谷英二ミュージアム

The Tsuburaya Eiji Museum (円谷英二博物館) opened in 2019 in Sukagawa City, the birthplace of Tsuburaya Eiji. The museum showcases the remarkable achievements of director Tsuburaya Eiji, known as the "God of Special Effects," who produced masterpieces such as "Godzilla" and "Ultraman" during the Showa era. Using screens and videos, the museum features the "Tsuburaya Eiji History Box," which introduces his life and career over 68 years. It includes interview footage, special effects videos, and displays of the original Godzilla suit props, as well as miniature recreations of the Toho Studios special effects filming sets. The exciting exhibits captivate both children and adults who grew up watching Tsuburaya's works. Additionally, the museum conveys Tsuburaya Eiji's message about the "importance of learning" to children, featuring a space filled with books related to video, biology, mechanics, and more, creating an environment where visiting children can learn joyfully.

The exhibition showcases the authentic recreation of the original Godzilla suit and props. Anyone can visit for free. Photography is prohibited in some parts of the exhibition.
