🗺️ Hakkōda Cable Car八甲田ロープウェー

The Aomori Ropeway is located on the Tamoyachi Mountain, one of the Hakkoda Mountain Range, connecting the base station and the summit park station at an elevation of 1,314 meters, with a ride time of about 10 minutes. The magnificent natural scenery of the Hakkoda Mountains, interwoven with the four seasons, not only attracts a large number of tourists but is also loved by summer hikers and winter skiers. The Aomori Ropeway operates year-round, showcasing different beautiful landscapes: tender green buds in mid-May, vibrant autumn leaves from late September to mid-October, and spectacular frost-covered trees from January to late February. The most popular season is autumn, when visitors can enjoy the breathtaking view of the mountains covered in red leaves from inside the gondola and at the summit. Each October, the ropeway carries as many as 100,000 passengers. On clear days, you can also enjoy distant views of Aomori City, Mutsu Bay, and Mount Iwaki. Near the summit park station, there are several wetlands, making it a well-known treasure trove of alpine plants. Two walking trails are laid out, taking approximately 30 minutes and 60 minutes respectively, allowing visitors to easily and comfortably enjoy the pleasure of hiking.

The cable car offers breathtaking views of the Hakkoda Mountains all year round. On clear days, you can also see the city of Aomori and Mutsu Bay in the distance. Near the mountaintop park station, there are many alpine plants, making it a very popular hiking trail.
