The Kitazawa Museum of Art showcases a collection of artworks amassed over the years by Toshio Kitazawa, the founder of KITZ Corporation, which manufactures valves and other everyday facility products. Since its opening in May 1983, it has welcomed over 8 million visitors.
On the first floor, the "Glass Art Exhibition Room" regularly displays around a hundred pieces, including the representative work "One Night Mushroom Lamp" by Émile Gallé, as well as works by renowned 19th-century French glass artists such as the Daum brothers. Visitors can use their smartphones to listen to audio guides, allowing for a deeper understanding of the artworks.
The second floor features the "Japanese Painting Exhibition Room," which displays works by modern Japanese painters such as Kaii Higashiyama and Seiji Noyama. The spacious area showcases various paintings that change with the seasons, ensuring that there are new works to see with each visit.
