The wetlands on the north side of the lake are known for their beautiful clusters of skunk cabbage, which bloom with delicate white flowers every May. Here, you can observe wild birds such as swans and white-tailed sea eagles, and the lake is home to freshwater fish like cherry salmon and white-spotted char. The nearby natural forest "POROTO no Mori" is rich with trees such as water birch and maple, and features a trail about 6 kilometers long, selected as one of Japan's top 100 walking paths, allowing visitors to enjoy a leisurely walk while experiencing a forest bath. In summer, activities like canoeing are available, while in winter, you can fish for white-spotted char.
