🎌 Nakamura Tōkichi Main Store "Nama Tea Jelly"

📝 Introduction

The rich aroma of tea and fresh flavors are concentrated in the smooth jelly, making it a popular dessert from a time-honored tea merchant.

📖 Details

Founded in the first year of Ansei (1854) in Uji, this long-established Uji tea shop has a history of 170 years. The attached café offers a variety of desserts, including buffet-style sweets and red bean soup, with the best-selling "Fresh Tea Jelly" now available for takeout, allowing customers to enjoy the shop's delicious flavors at home. Without adding excessive sugar, the jelly is made directly from the natural taste, color, and aroma of the tea leaves. The jelly combines delicate aromas with the sweet flavor of matcha, available in two varieties: "Matcha," paired with red bean filling, and "Hojicha," which has a refreshing taste and aroma, reminiscent of drinking tea directly. Both flavors are available year-round. The online store sells both single-flavor and assorted packages. In the physical store, you can purchase individual pieces.
