📖 Details

Hirakusa Park is located on a high plateau that offers a panoramic view of Shirahama Town. To the west lies the Kii Channel, and to the south is Yoshino-Kumano National Park, while to the east, one can enjoy a distant view of the Kumano Sanzan mountain range. The park features a total of nine types of cherry blossom trees, including Somei Yoshino, Yamazakura, Oshima Sakura, and Yaezakura, with a total of 2,000 trees planted. Each year, from late March to early April during the blooming season, a large number of cherry blossom viewers flock to the park. Additionally, the park is home to various seasonal flowers such as azaleas, rapeseed flowers, roses, and daffodils, making it a highly recommended spot for photography. The park's perimeter also includes a 2-kilometer outdoor fitness facility, and play equipment made of logs and ropes, which is perfect for family fun. Inside the park, there is the Shirahama Folk Hot Spring Museum, which provides information about hot springs across Japan and introduces the history of Shirahama Onsen.
