🍜 Lao Xiang Ji

📝 Introduction

Established in 1915, this century-old shop's signature dish is the pork bun, which requires a long wait in line to enjoy!

📖 Details

Founded in 1915 by the original owner from Zhejiang, China, Lao Xiang Ji was established based on the meat buns of Tianjin, China, and created the "pork bun" tailored to Japanese tastes. It is said to be Japan's first specialty pork bun shop. After several generations of effort, this century-old establishment remains popular, with long lines forming daily. The restaurant sells 13,000 pork buns each day. The handmade dough and pork filling, passed down through generations, perfectly complement each other and are beloved by locals. On weekends and public holidays, long lines start forming as soon as the shop opens, and sometimes customers have to wait up to an hour to buy buns. The quieter times to visit are usually between 10:00 to 11:00 AM or 5:25 to 6:15 PM on weekdays. Please note that the shop closes once they sell out each day. Additionally, if you happen to visit on a day when the shop is closed, it is recommended to go to Lao Xiang Ji's sister store, "Cao Jia Bao Zi Guan," to purchase buns.
