📜 Hotel Details

The Tobira Onsen Myojinkan is located in a valley about a 30-minute drive from Matsumoto City and is a long-established ryokan that was founded in 1931. Nestled within a national park at an altitude of 1,050 meters, it has been welcoming guests for over 90 years in this healing space surrounded by greenery. In 2008, it passed strict evaluations to join the prestigious "Relais & Châteaux," a luxury hotel association, and has also received multiple certifications, including the "Kusumoto Certification" and the "Green Key Certification." Myojinkan features three onsen (hot springs), with the type being a smooth-skin alkaline simple spring (above 25 degrees Celsius, containing a certain amount of mineral-rich water). In the standing onsen "Setsugekka," guests can enjoy a hot spring that reaches waist-deep while gazing at the valley; in "Kozan," they can soak in the hot spring while lying down, looking up at the sky and the surrounding mountains; and in the large bath "Hakuryu," guests can enjoy an outdoor hot spring experience while being close to the majestic mountains. Each onsen offers a unique natural environment to enhance the soaking experience. For dinner, there are two restaurant options: French cuisine and Japanese cuisine. The restaurants heavily feature ingredients from their own farm, Tobira Farm, as well as seasonal local vegetables from Nagano Prefecture. Guests can also taste traditional Shinshu dishes made using fermentation techniques. The guest rooms include various types, such as traditional Japanese-style tatami rooms and Western-style rooms with comfortable beds. The thoughtfully designed spaces and attentive hospitality ensure that every guest feels a sense of healing during their stay.
