The "Tenpura" sightseeing boat, which takes about 20 minutes to circle around Lake Kawaguchi, one of the Fuji Five Lakes. Departing from the Tenpura pier on the shores of Lake Kawaguchi, the boat passes under the Kawaguchi Lake Bridge, makes a turn near the only island in the Fuji Five Lakes, "Uno Island," and then returns along the same route, offering breathtaking views of Mount Fuji that can only be appreciated from this location.
The boat features a traditional Japanese design, modeled after the "Ataka-bune," a naval vessel that belonged to the Takeda clan during the Sengoku period. Adorned with the Takeda family crest, the "Takeda Hishi," and the iconic "Akazome" associated with the Takeda army, its magnificent and imposing appearance is quite popular. The interior cabins are designed in a Japanese style, primarily using white wood and tatami mats. Guests can rent samurai gear such as "gunbai" (war fans) and "hōori" (traditional jackets) on board to take commemorative photos dressed as Sengoku warriors.
Sailing gently on Lake Kawaguchi, the second largest of the Fuji Five Lakes, passengers can enjoy the beautiful lakeside scenery and the majestic sight of Mount Fuji, which is a major attraction. The grand view of Mount Fuji from the lake is particularly spectacular. Additionally, this location is famous for the "Reverse Fuji," where the reflection of Mount Fuji appears on the lake's surface, but this breathtaking sight can only be seen under favorable weather conditions, making one look forward to clear skies. Even in rainy weather, the boat can still operate, as there is a retractable roof area at the back of the first floor for passengers' comfort. Inside, a large screen displays the different seasonal landscapes of Mount Fuji, as well as historical and tourist information about the surrounding areas.
The area with the roof on the boat is accessible, allowing travelers with wheelchairs or strollers to board with ease.
