Standing near Tokyo Station, this is Japan's largest international conference and arts center. Built in 1997 on the site of the former Metropolitan Government Building, it serves as an international cultural exchange venue. The building features a façade of floor-to-ceiling glass, shaped like a "ship," known as the "Glass Pavilion," and is a stylish and uniquely designed structure created by architect Rafael Viñoly. In the Michelin Green Guide Japan, the overall building is rated two stars, while the "Glass Pavilion" is rated three stars, receiving high acclaim and recognized as one of Tokyo's landmarks. Inside, it comprises eight exhibition halls of various sizes, conference rooms, an outdoor plaza, shops, and restaurants. It is used for a variety of events, including performances, concerts, exhibitions, and international conferences. It also served as the venue for weightlifting and powerlifting events during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics.
