📖 One Piece Shinkansen

The original manga, anime, and live-action TV series "One Piece," a world-class bestselling work with immense popularity, is collaborating with the Sanyo Shinkansen, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2025, to launch a special train. The original Shinkansen will operate in the Sanyo region, surrounded by mountains and seas, sharing many commonalities with the world of "One Piece." The blue train inspired by the Seto Inland Sea, named "Setouchi Blue," is currently in operation, featuring illustrations of "One Piece" characters throughout the interior. The train's bell sounds and announcements have also been specially produced, making it a dream train for "One Piece" fans. The washbasin styled like a pirate bounty poster is also a popular photo spot. Starting from May 28, 2025, the "Donny Donny Chopper" train, designed by the character Chopper from the Straw Hat crew, will be launched, followed by the "Monkey D. Luffy" train themed around the main character Luffy on July 2. The three trains will operate randomly. This series of trains runs between Shin-Osaka and Hakata (with some services from Okayama to Hakata) under the name "Kodama." There is no additional charge; you can ride with a standard Shinkansen ticket and a limited express ticket.
