Chokichi is a restaurant where you can enjoy Japanese cuisine made with boiled yuba (tofu skin). The restaurant is located in a renovated wooden inn from the Showa era (1955-1964), allowing diners to enjoy their meals while taking in the scenic views of the Hayakawa River flowing nearby.
The yuba used in the dishes is made from high-quality soy milk and the pure "Hime no Mizu" (姫の水) that springs from the Daidai Plateau, resulting in a smooth texture and rich layers of flavor.
The most popular item on the menu is the "Yuba Don" (湯葉丼), which features the signature boiled yuba wrapped in egg sauce. The yuba captures the rich flavor of freshly ground soy milk, and after being simmered with shiitake mushrooms, mitsuba, and a special broth, it is drizzled with egg sauce.
