📝 Introduction
A historic shrine filled with spiritual energy.
📖 Details
An ancient shrine dedicated to the Japanese mythological hero "Yamato Takeru" and his wife "Tachikihime no Mikoto." It is said that "Yamato Takeru" and "Tachikihime no Mikoto" came to this area to pacify the eastern lands, and in gratitude for the villagers' affection, he gifted them a crown. The villagers placed the crown in a stone chest buried underground and built a shrine above it, which became the origin of the Mizukami Shrine.
One of the deities enshrined, "Tachikihime no Mikoto," is revered for sacrificing herself to save her husband during a crisis, and thus is considered a power spot that enhances feminine charm. She is also believed to bless marriages, foster good relationships, and is widely loved by women. The "Tachikihime no Mikoto Monument" within the grounds was initiated by seven renowned military officers, including Heihachiro Togō. Additionally, there is the "Tachikihime no Mikoto Steering Stone," which prays for safe sea voyages.
In the shrine's water purification area, there is a spring from Mount Fuji that emerges from 30 meters underground. Behind the main hall, the "Water Shrine" features a decoration of a kappa, the water deity, welcoming worshippers.
