Yukura Shrine is located in the hot spring area of Yunokawa in Hakodate, Hokkaido. There are many legends here about using hot spring therapy to heal ailments, and it is said to have special divine powers related to hot springs and medicine. It is widely revered for blessings of health and longevity, marital harmony, and smooth childbirth; it is also worshipped as a deity that protects against poor harvests, promotes business prosperity, helps in forming good relationships, and aids in child-rearing, earning it a strong following among the people. Due to the deep connection between the deity enshrined at Yukura Shrine and "rabbits," many rabbit-shaped items can be found within the shrine grounds. Above the offering box, there is a wooden carved rabbit held by the enshrined deity, and next to the main hall, there is a "Nuru Usagi" (petting rabbit). It is said that if you pet it while making a wish, your wish will come true. Additionally, there is a "Healing Mallet" that can fulfill wishes for healing and a white rabbit known as "Temari Usagi," with colorful Temari signs also being a popular photo spot. The types of omikuji (fortune slips) are also quite diverse, including "Usagi Omikuji" (rabbit fortune) and "Ika Omikuji" (squid fortune) designed with Hakodate's specialty, squid.
