Ningle Terrace is a shopping area located just a 2-minute walk from the New Furano Prince Hotel in Furano, Hokkaido, and is a popular photo spot representing Furano. "Ningle" refers to the "Forest Sage," a 15 cm tall character from the stage work "Ningle" by playwright Sō Kuramoto, who lives in the forests of Hokkaido. In this fairy-tale-like beautiful forest, there are 15 small wooden houses, each selling handcrafted works inspired by nature. At the "Forest Candle Shop," you can find wooden candles carved into animals or Ningle; at the "Paperwork House," there are works that showcase the four seasons of Furano using beautifully textured washi paper; and at the "Forest Leather Workshop," you can find handmade leather products made from the natural textures of deer and cowhide. There are a total of 15 shops with different styles, all connected by walking paths, allowing visitors to stroll through the mysterious forest while enjoying shopping. Additionally, the "Craft Experience," where you can create your own unique piece alongside the artisans at Ningle Terrace, has also become quite popular. It is recommended to take some time to try your hand at making something yourself as a memorable part of your visit.
