🗺️ Hunter Mountain Salt Field

Located on the northwest slope of Mount Takahara in the northern part of Tochigi Prefecture, this mountain resort is about a 150-minute drive from the Tokyo metropolitan area via the Tohoku Expressway, making it easily accessible for a day trip from Tokyo. As one of the largest ski resorts in the Tokyo area, it attracts many skiing enthusiasts from late November to early April each year. There are a total of 12 ski trails suitable for all levels of skiers, from beginners to advanced. The longest ski trail, measuring 3,000 meters, offers a perfect skiing experience. For beginners, the "Sesame Street" ski trail, with an average slope of just 5 degrees, is highly recommended. There is also a children's playground with various recreational facilities, including soft slides, snow tubes, and bouldering, making it very popular among family visitors. From early May to early November, the expansive ski area transforms into a car camping site. Visitors can enjoy the fresh highland air and stunning scenery while experiencing the joys of camping at an altitude of about 1,150 meters.
