🗺️ Enoshima Sea Candle (Enoshima Observation Lighthouse)

📝 Introduction

Gazing at the stunning panoramic view from Enoshima.

📖 Details

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Enoshima Electric Railway, the observation deck of Japan's first private lighthouse, built in 1951, was renovated and reopened in 2013. With the basic concepts of "considering landscape and nature," "pursuing public utility value," and "revitalizing local tourism," it has transformed into a popular attraction that draws large numbers of visitors. From the observation floor enclosed by glass curtains, one can enjoy expansive views of Sagami Bay and Mount Fuji from a height of 101.56 meters. The outdoor observation deck on the top floor offers even more breathtaking scenery, making it an ideal spot for sightseeing on pleasant days. The first floor of the observation deck features a wooden terrace with seating, allowing visitors to dine while enjoying the beautiful sunset. Additionally, from mid-November to February each year, a lantern festival called "Shonan Jewel" is held. During this event, Enoshima's sea candles emit blue and purple lights, illuminating the entire Enoshima with dazzling lights, making it highly recommended to visit during this period.
