📜 Content

The Nishikigawa Seiryusen Line is a railway line that connects Iwakuni Station in Iwakuni City with Nishikimachi Station, spanning a total length of 38.3 kilometers. The colorful train cars are themed around "the scenery of clear streams and nature in harmony," featuring four types: "Sakura Pink," "Forest Green," "Fluorescent Yellow," and "Seiryū Blue." The railway line is mostly laid along National Route 187 and crosses the Nishikigawa River via the Kintai Bridge. Along the way, there are many attractions such as clear streams, waterfalls, and diving bridges. Through the spacious viewing windows, passengers can enjoy the cherry blossoms and rapeseed flowers in spring, the active trout and sweetfish on the river surface in summer, and the changing scenery of the four seasons. Upon arriving at the final destination, Nishikimachi Station, passengers can take the "Tokotoko Train," which operates every weekend except in winter. The track for the sightseeing train was originally planned for railway use. The route passes through the "Kirara Dream Tunnel," which is shaped by glowing fluorescent stones to create a galaxy impression, allowing passengers to experience a fantastical world. After about a 40-minute ride, the "Tokotoko Train" arrives at the final stop, Shōtsukyo Onsen Station. Whether staying overnight or enjoying a hot spring here is a great option.
