The brand new sightseeing express train operated by Kintetsu was launched in April 2022, allowing direct access to Osaka, Nara, and Kyoto without transfers. The train is named "AONIYOSHI," a poetic term used to praise the ancient capital of Nara. The exterior color is a noble purple, the highest rank in the "Twelve Levels of Court Rank" from the Nara period. The design of the interior and exterior is inspired by the treasures of the Shosoin, featuring decorations that reflect the "Tenpyo Culture" of the Nara period, creating a space that allows passengers to experience the rich history and culture of the ancient capital, Nara. The train consists of four carriages and offers two types of spacious seating: double seats for two people and salon seats for three to four people, totaling 84 seats. In the sales counter of the second carriage, passengers can purchase famous Nara sweets and craft beer to enjoy on board, as well as exclusive in-train products perfect for souvenirs. The fourth carriage features a library space with sofas, where passengers can leisurely read books related to the areas along the route. There is also dedicated crew service on board, allowing passengers to fully enjoy a high-quality train journey.
