🗺️ Phoenix Ming Forty-Eight Waterfalls

The name "Hōmyō Shijūhachi Taki" refers to a collection of several waterfalls that meander through the upper reaches of the Hirosegawa River, making it one of the lesser-known waterfalls in Sendai. It is said that the name comes from the sound of the water cascading down the falls, which resembles the call of the legendary phoenix. The waterfalls create a beautiful sight as they cascade down in a tiered formation amidst dense, lush forests, with the "Kamakurayama," shaped like a large pot lid, located behind them. The clear waterfalls flowing through the verdant forest change their appearance with the seasons.
